There is a strict 8.00am start so please ensure you are there at 7.45am. If late, you will not be allowed into the course, and full cancellation fee will apply.

General Information

  • The course costs €150 per person
  • Maximum 20 people per course
  • Safe pass is a Full day course from 8.00am to 5pm
  • Participants must be at least 16 years old
  • Each candidate will need to bring an Passport Sized photo, Proof of Irish PPSN & Photo ID.

 

Private courses are also available for schools, companies, etc. Contact office@ossltd.ie for more information

Please note: SOLAS sets the timetable and attendance requirements for this course, so if insufficient attendees turn up on the day, O'Dwyer Safety Services may be forced to cancel.

Start time is 8.00am sharp. Late participants will not be allowed on the course, and full cancellation fee will apply.

 

 

 

Extension to expiry date of Safe Pass card due to COVID

Damien English, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employer after consultation with the Health and Safety Authority published the following regulation - Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (S.l. No. 528 of 2021).

The purpose of these regulations is to gradually bring to an end the extended validity of Safe

Pass Cards provided for by the introduction of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 (S.I. No. 102 of 2020)

Schedule 4 (as amended by Regulation 3 of the Regulations of 2020) to the Principal Regulations is amended by substituting for paragraphs 3 and 4 the following paragraph:

“3. Notwithstanding paragraph 2—

    1. where the 4 year period referred to in that paragraph expired between 1 March 2020 and 31 October 2020 (inclusive of those dates), the safety awareness registration card shall be regarded as valid for the purpose of these Regulations for the period of 5 years and 11 months (or 71 months) from the date of completion of the programme or scheme in respect of which it was issued, and
    2. where the 4 year period referred to in that paragraph expired between 1 November 2020 and the date of coming into operation of this provision (inclusive of those dates), the safety awareness registration card shall be regarded as valid for the period of 5 years and two months (or 62 months) from the date of completion of the programme or scheme in respect of which it was issued.”.

The regulation was signed into law on 13th October 2021.

How do I get to the venue?

Our Safe Pass courses are held at Room 102, Roselawn Business Centre, behind Roselawn House, National Technology Park, Castletroy. (Location map)

PLEASE NOTE: Eircode V94 6R68 will bring you to Roselawn House – Room 102 is located BEHIND Roselawn House. Turn right directly after Roselawn House, which will bring you into the car park. You will see Unikids Creche in front of you. It has a colourful fence in  the shape of pencils. Door to training room 102 is between the fence and playground with a sign 'Roselawn Business Centre' over it.  The room is located on the first floor and there is a lift just inside the door if required.   

Alternatively, you can enter ‘Irish Colleges Training Centre (ICTC) Castletroy’ on Google Maps, which will also take you to Roselawn Business Centre.

Tea/coffee making facilities are available.

Directions coming from UL main entrance:

Heading away from city, continue on Plassey Park Road until you see CASA on your right. Turn left opposite CASA. (There's a stone sign 'Hamilton House' at junction) Take 3rd right which is just after Roselawn House, University Business Park.

Directions coming from The Kilmurry Lodge:

Continue past The Kilmurry Lodge entrance on Plassey Road. Turn right at T junction onto Plassey Park Road. CASA will be on your right. Take immediate left. (There's a stone sign 'Hamilton House' at this junction). Take 3rd right which is just after Roselawn Park House, University Business Park.
