COURSE SUITABLE FOR:  

Managers, supervisors and operatives who are required to plan, organise, direct and manage signage and road works, in both rural and urban situations. This CSCS roadwork training is mandatory underhe Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 and will be enforced from 6th July, 2009

 

COURSE AWARD: 

FETAC Special Purpose Level 5 Certificate in 'Signing, Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks

 

COURSE DURATION:  

3 days

 

COURSE PARTICIPANTS:  

Group training /  8 participants 

 

COURSE PREREQUISITES: 

Age 16 years upwards.

Participant has successfully completed Safe Pass Programme. Participants will undergo an in-depth 3 day course and good literacy and numeric skills are strongly recommended. Preferably participant has previous experience in the construction industry and on road works.

  

VENUE REQUIREMENTS: 

Room suitable to seat 10 people comfortably (with tables /desks if possible).  

A suitable floor area or tabletop for road layout demonstrations . 

White wall or projector screen

 

 

COURSE COST : €650 p.p.

 

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES: 

On completion of the Signing , Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks programme, trainees will be able to evaluate, plan and install a safe system of signing, lighting and guarding at road works in accordance with the requirements of National guidelines.

ASSESSMENTS:

 

There is an assessment at the end of each of the above modules. 

Assessment consists of Site Practical Assessment, Classroom Practical Assessment and Multi-Choice/ Short Answer.

 

To be awarded a Certificate candidate needs to attain at least 70% in the modular and competency test.
